Lab 1 : Christopher Marley & Courtney Mattison
Christopher Marley & Courtney Mattison are two contemporary artists who use art to make a statement about conservation and the natural world.
For Courtney Mattison, this means porcelain landscapes that look as though they're taken right from out of a coral reef.
For Christopher Marley, this means using taxidermy in artistic ways that draw attention to the beauty of these creatures.

AM Class
Your challenge: To make a creature creation in the style of Christopher Marley
You’re going to want to make at least 4 of these small clay creatures in order to display them together. They can all be the same creature, or they can be different. They can be the same size or some smaller and some a little bit larger- just like Christopher Marley makes.
PM Class
Your challenge: To make an abstract hanging bug in the colors of your choice and decorated just how you like it!
NOTE: One part of my video seems to have disappeared. During this clip, I cut the “Spiral clay pancake” in half and attached the wings to the top of the bug’s body. Then I inserted the metal ring pin.
It’s important to remember to do that before it is fired, or else it will not be able to hang!
